A Man Praying

Quickprayerism

One day a long time ago, a preacher told me that it was "kind of like a machine".  You just get them down the aisle any way you can.  Then you tell them about Hell and tell them about Heaven.  You do "whatever it takes".  Then you have a "quick prayer" with them, and then all of those "converts" will be eternally secure and ready for Heaven.  Yes, that proud preacher man told me that it was just "like a machine", or so he said.

Is "quickprayerism" right?  Sure, it is easy to
trust Jesus.  Nevertheless, getting a sinner to race down an aisle and pray a "magic prayer" is not the same as an actual Biblical conversion.  Conversion is when sinners turn from their sins and come to Jesus, trusting Jesus to forgive them for their sins.

Conversion is not a process.  It is not a machine.  It is not the magical result of some "special prayer" that an evangelist gets sinners to recite.  No, that is what is called "quickprayerism".

No doubt, many people have prayed and have been converted.  Nevertheless, they were converted because they had trusted Jesus.  Saying the "right words" did not "do the trick" for them.  No, quickprayerism is in fact a blasphemous and wicked false doctrine.

A prayer does not save.  Only Jesus saves.  A prayer did not shed its blood on Calvary.  Jesus did that.  To lift up a prayer and say that a prayer saves instead of Jesus saving is as bad as a Roman Catholic claiming that Mary saves as a co-redeemer together with Jesus.  No, only Jesus saves!

If you want to get saved, then turn from your sins and trust Jesus to save you.  Jesus will do all of the saving.  Your "quickprayerism" prayers will not save you at all.  Trust Jesus to do all of the saving and He will indeed save you.  Then, get into a good Bible-believing
Fundamentalist Baptist
church.  Do it today!
